About Ship 507

Adventure & Leadership on the Water

Sea Scout Ship 507 – The Dragonslayer – is a Sea Scout unit serving young men and women ages 14 through 20. As part Scouting America's Sea Scout program, we develop leadership, seamanship, and character through maritime experiences on the water.

Our Ship is proudly chartered by St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church & School. We welcome all youth who are ready to push their limits, learn new skills, and serve their community through the traditions of the sea.

What Sea Scouts Do

Sea Scouts participate in sailing, navigation, seamanship, boating safety, and maritime leadership. Members advance through four ranks — Apprentice, Ordinary, Able, and Quartermaster — the highest Sea Scout rank, equivalent to Eagle Scout.

Beyond rank advancement, Sea Scouts participate in regional events, high adventure cruises, and national programs connecting them with Sea Scouts across the country.

All prospective Scouts and their families are welcome to attend a meeting and see Ship 507 in action.
